COLLEGE PROFESSORS ATTEND ONLINE IN-SERVICE TRAINING

August 3-11, 2020

In preparation for the transition to online classes this school year, LCUP organized an In-Service Training for all college professors from August 3 - 11. The initiative of the program was to educate the faculty members who were not part of the recent G-Suite for Education End-User Training on how to utilize certain productivity tools and software for virtual classroom management.

The training, which had the theme “Exploring the Innovations, Trends, and Concerns on the Implementation of Flexible Learning,” was proposed by VPAA Dr. Divina Ann M. Eusebio and was facilitated through Google Meet by Prof. Jay Mark B. Santos.

Several administrators and faculty members who attended the G-Suite training last month were invited as coaches and resource speakers during the six-day workshop. They were: Prof. Edna Dayao, Prof. Richard Jimenez, Prof. Christian Catindig, Prof. Ezekiel Rodriguez, Engr. John Paolo Isip, Prof. Bobby Isip, Mr. Wilfred Sarmiento and Dr. Alejandro Vistan.

The participants were trained on the use of Microsoft Office 365 and Google’s set of apps such as Docs, Sheets, Slides, Sites, Classroom and YouTube. They were likewise oriented on the data privacy procedures and proper protocols to consider when conducting their classes online.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, LCUP encourages its professors to employ a mix of synchronous and asynchronous modes of instruction wherein students are able to study at their own pace. This guarantees that even students who don’t have constant access to the internet will still be able to keep up with the bulk of their lessons.
