GS undergoes CHED Regional Quality Assessment for PhD Nursing Program

The LCUP Graduate Studies
(GS) went through the Commission on
Higher Education (CHED) Regional
Quality Assessment for the potential
implementation of a Doctor of Philosophy
in Nursing major in Nursing Administration
– an addition to its expanding graduate
studies program offerings, held at the
College of Medicine Conference Room on
May 25, 2023.
A team of evaluators from
CHED namely, Dr. Mary Grace Lacanaria,
Technical Panel for Nursing, Dr. Josefina
Tuazon and Dr. Iris So, Members of the
Technical Evaluators for Nursing, Dr. Regie
Bautista, Regional Quality Assessment
Team Assessor, Ms. Aileen Rachel Delina,
Project Technical Staff, CHED-OPSD, and
Dr. Roel Palo Anicas, Education Supervisor
II, CHED Central Luzon Region was
welcomed by Sr. Editha Zerna, OSA
PhD, University President, Dr. Enrico
Rosales, VP for GS, Dr. Jocelyn Hipona,
Faculty of PhD-Nursing, and other LCUP
Administrators.
The Quality Assessment was
facilitated in a three-part program proper
hosted by Dr. Janet Valdez, Assistant to the
VP for GS. The first part of the program
included the Welcome Remarks of Sister
President followed by the introduction
of the LCUP Administrators presented
by Prof. Ruth Malabiga, Director of
the Human Resource and Development
Office. A brief program presentation
of the Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing
major in Nursing Administration was done
by Dr. Hipona.
The second part of the program
was allotted to the actual Program
Evaluation wherein a close-door meeting
was facilitated. The third and last part of
the program proper included the discussion
of the assessment results of the panel of
evaluators.
