CONSOLANIANS OBSERVE ASH WEDNESDAY

Consolanians began the Lenten Season with the celebration of Ash Wednesday on March 6 at the Kalinangan Auditorium. LCUP held two Eucharistic celebrations, one for the College Department which started at 8:00 AM, and another for the Basic Education students which commenced at around 11:00 AM. Rev. Fr. Andre Katsyoto, AA, University Chaplain, was the mass presider. Likewise present are the members of the faculty, personnel, and LCUP administrators. During the sermon, Consolanians were called to observe prayer, fasting and abstinence, as well as, to perform acts of charity and kindness. Fr. Katsyoto, likewise reminded everyone about the message of Lent, which is to repent and believe in the Gospel. Students and personnel lined up afterwards for the placing of ashes on the forehead. The ashes symbolize the dust from which God formed man, and the practice of wearing them on the forehead serves as a reminder for believers that “we are from dust and to dust we shall return.”
