DR. NUQUI PUSHES INTERNATIONALIZATION OF ACADEMIC PROGRAMS

Dr. Alvin V. Nuqui, EVP/VPAA, attended a seminar on internationalization in Cebu last January 31 - February 2 as part of the Internationalization Program of the Commis sion on Higher Education.

LCUP was granted the privilege to be selected by CHED as one of the academic institutions in the country qualified to offer international programs.

The purpose of the seminar was to come up with a 5-year Strategic Internationalization Plan for 2018 - 2023.

The first phase of the Internationalization Program took place last year, wherein representatives from 15 Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) were selected to visit 8 universities and 4 colleges in Ottawa, Canada. Aside from the school visit, the representatives likewise attended seminars conducted by esteemed lecturers.

Holy Angel University, one of the initial 15 HEIs selected by CHED, was tasked to mentor the school this year regarding the internationalization program.

With the advent of globalization and advancements in technology, internationalization has increasingly become a key feature of major HEIs. Its implementation would place LCUP among other leading universities in the country such as CEU, FEU, and UST.

LCUP will be represented by the International Networking and Linkages Office in trainings which will be conducted outside of the country.
