SPORTS FEST OFFICIALLY KICKS OFF



Students and members of the faculty convened at the Kalinangan Auditorium last December 7 to celebrate the offical opening of the LCUP Sports Fest. The program began with a parade of students and athletes at 7 in the morning. Mr. Jimmy V. Brown, Sports Development Program Coordninator, gave the opening message. The lighting of the torch was administered by Mr. Warlo J. Batac, LCUP’s Most Valuable Player, followed by the players’ oath taking led by LCUP Captain Ball, Mr. Gabriel Francisco. The closing remarks, meanwhile, was rendered by Mr. Modest M. Mambo, Sports Development Program Coordinator. The ceremonial toss ball was done by Sr. Imelda A. Mora, OSA, University President, and Dr. Alvin V. Nuqui, EVP/ VPAA.

Afterwards, Mr. John Peter Sevilla and Ms. Marjurie Quesada, the program’s Masters of Ceremony, officially announced the start of the Sports Fest. Several booths offering food and drinks, as well as a giant inflatable play-area, were set up inside the University campus for the students’ enjoyment. The LCUP Sports Fest is a 5-day event wherein students take a break from their usual routine to participate in different athletic contests and activities. The event is likewise a great venue for pupils to develop important values such as sportsmanship, teamwork, and camaraderie
