Sinulog is known as an annual religious festival in the Philippines, particularly in the Cebu City, intended to commemorate the feast of Sto. Niňo (Child Jesus) held on the third Sunday of January. Read More ...
The feast day proper started with a Sinulog procession from the Cassiciacum Gym, followed by a Holy Mass at the Open Stage Parking and then the Grand Sinulog dance. A Sinulog Queen carried and danced with the Sto. Niňo image during the procession and the Grand Sinulog dance.
The LCUP Community was advised to bring their own Sto. Niňo image which they also carried throughout the celebration. During the Grand Sinulog Dance, the LCUP community was given the chance to dance with the main Sto. Niňo image as the Sinulog Queen passed it from one personnel to another.
This year’s Sinulog Festival, which originally was done in participation with the LCUP students, was celebrated by the LCUP teaching personnel, non-teaching personnel, and the whole community. The Sinulog Queen was chosen from the LCUP personnel as well.
Prior to the feast, a Triduum Mass was offered on January 12-14, 2021 at the Kalinangan Auditorium participated by the different departments in the institution.
