UNIVERSITY PREPARES FOR ONLINE LEARNING WITH G-SUITE TRAINING
July 11-18, 2020
In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, distance learning has become the new normal for academic institutions all over the country. In order to equip instructors with the knowledge and skills needed for the successful implementation of online classes, LCUP conducted a G-Suite for Education End-User Training to selected administrators and faculty from July 11 to 18.
The five-session training was organized by the Management Information Systems (MIS) department led by Engr. Joseph Espino, CITE Dean, and facilitated by Mr. Gary Garcia, technology coach and Google for Education Certified Innovator and Trainer.
Seventy participants, including deans, principals and professors, were trained to use the G Suite for Education set of online tools such as Google Docs, Slides, Sheets, Meet and Classroom among others. These tools will aid in ensuring a safe teaching and learning environment for faculty and students as they conduct their lessons inside the comforts and security of their own homes.
With the advent of distance learning and with the new knowledge gained in their training, instructors can now stay even more connected with their students and continue with their curriculum as needed.
