LCUP COMMUNITY SISTERS GIVE COVID RELIEF GOODS TO UNIVERSITY EMPLOYEES
The LCUP Community Sisters carried out a CoViD-19 relief operation to the LCUP employees after the temporary suspension of workforce in response to the government’s re-implementation of Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) to Metro Manila, Laguna, Cavite, Bulacan, and Rizal.
The strictest lockdown was reinforced to contain the surge of CoViD-19 cases in the said areas also called the NCR Plus which includes the province of Bulacan from March 29 to April 12. Later on, the national government imposed a Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) from April 12-30. In line with this, the University implemented a zero to skeletal workforce in compliance with the lockdown protocols.
The relief packs prepared by the LCUP Community Sisters contains five kilograms of rice, four canned goods, and three noodles for tenured and probationary personnel and three kilograms of rice, four canned goods, and three noodles for the part-time employees. The distribution of goods was administered by the Extension Unit. Some personnel waived their relief packs with the hopes that it may be additional goods to other personnel in need.
