LCUP JOINS CHED’S MONTHLY ONLINE KAPIHAN LAUNCHING

La Consolacion University Philippines (LCUP) actively supported the launching of the “Monthly Online Kapihan at Talakayan with CHEDRO-III”, September 29, 2020 via Zoom Meeting. The said program of the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office-III (CHEDRO-III) aims to virtually connect with the Higher Educational Institutions in Region III to ensure proper dissemination and implementation of CHED’s policies and regulations.
Heads/Key Officials of HEIs in Region III were present at the virtual meeting. The University Registrar Dr. Maria Lourdes D. Cervantes represented LCUP in the said program.
In the concluded virtual meeting, Guidelines on the Implementation of Flexible Learning or known as the CHED Memorandum Order no. 04, s. 2020 was tackled by Ms. Lora L. Yusi, Chief Education Program Specialist of CHEDRO-III. Numerous major concerns were discussed such as the adjustments of HEIs from traditional learning to online and modular learning, avoiding risks of infection in the academic community, offline supports to students, and partnership with other educational institutions.
An open forum with Dr. Maria Teresa Macanta-Semana – Officer in Charge of CHEDRO-III capped the closing of the program.
CHEDRO-III will continue to monitor the HEIs closely from November to December 2020. The HEIs will also be evaluated on the compliance with CHED’s COVID-19 advisory and flexible learning implementations, which may include adjustments on the curriculum modifications upon consultation with CHED first.
