The Research, Extension and Linkages Office conducted an International Students Orientation for the foreign students of the Basic Education Department last June 25 at the BED AVR.

Ms. Ma. Renarlyn Rose Cardenas, Director of Linkages, officiated the orientation program which commenced at exactly 10am.

The orientation was conducted to help familiarize new and existing international students with the names and faces of the university administrators, the rules and regulations of the institution, and the facilities inside the campus.

Ms. Cardenas likewise discussed the plans for a cultural exposure trip this year which would immerse LCUP’s international students in the rich culture and heritage of the Philippines.

Aside from the trip, foreign students currently enrolled in the university are also encouraged to participate in outreach activities as part of the institution’s community extension services.

A total of 30 grade school and high school students were present during the orientation. The group was comprised of 4 pure foreign students and 26 dual citizens.

Another set of orientation programs are scheduled for this school year to cater to the international students in the college and graduate school departments.

As the university moves closer towards achieving internationalization, more foreign and exchange students are expected to be part of the growing LCUP family in the future
