UNIVERSITY CELEBRATES 83RD FOUNDING ANNIVERSARY IN TIME WITH THE ADVENT SEASON

December 3-4, 2020

As it marks another year of hopes and challenges, La Consolacion University Philippines (LCUP) initiated a line-up of activities as a celebration to its 83rd Founding Anniversary in time with the Advent Season, December 3-4, 2020.

On December 3, The Integral Evangelization Program (IEP) Office held an Institutional Advent Reflections at the Kalinangan Auditorium. In line with the modern-day evangelization, the spiritual activity was composed of video presentations, live stories of inspiration, songs, and reflections.

For each Advent Season theme namely; Hope, Love, Joy, and Peace, a special guest from the LCUP Community will share a real-life story followed by a video-recorded advent reflection given by a guest preacher. Event hosts Mrs. Aliana Gonzales and Mr. John Marie Malco from the BED Faculty sit and had a heart-to-heart talk with the special guests.

Property and Supplies Officer Mr. Cyrus Somedo shared his stories of hope, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Divina Ann Eusebio, Executive Secretary Prof. Maria Isabel Guevarra, Guidance Counsellor Ms. Filomena De Jesus, and BED Assistant Principal Mr. Virgilio Bantigue shared their stories about love, Sr. Maria Aurora Lanozo, RCM, Sr. Glizelle Rose Jimenez, RDW and Sr. Luna Amlos, SDS shared their stories of joy and Vice President for Religious Formation and Extension Sr. Mary Sheba Principe, OSA shared her stories of peace.

On December 4, the LCUP teaching and non-teaching personnel gathered in the Kalinangan Auditorium for the Personnel’s Advent Recollection. The Recollection was graced by the University Chaplain Rev. Fr. Cornelio Jaranilla, Jr. OCD as the speaker.

A Foundation Day Mass, presided by Rev. Fr. Jaranilla, occurred at the Open Stage Parking in the end as to give thanks to a new milestone, followed by the blessing of the LCUP Christmas Nativity.
