COLLEGE OF MEDICINE

Ma. Cristina E. Zulueta, MD, PhD, MSPH, FPSA, FPOGS
Dean, College of Medicine
In 2017, La Consolacion University Philippines (LCUP) took a bold leap of faith, establishing the
first College of Medicine in Bulacan. This wasn't just about launching a school; it was about
answering a critical need for accessible, compassionate healthcare in our community. Rooted
in the enduring Augustinian-Marian values of truth, charity, and service, we embarked on a
mission to nurture not just doctors, but healers.
Today, as Dean, I stand with immense pride and gratitude. We've witnessed the transformation
of aspiring students into four graduating classes of Augustinian Doctors with Compassionate
Hearts. These remarkable individuals are now making a tangible difference, serving in diverse
healthcare settings and embodying the very essence of our mission.
Our journey has been a testament to relentless dedication and continuous innovation. We've
achieved significant milestones:
❏ A Rigorous, Future-Focused Curriculum: We've crafted a curriculum that not only imparts essential medical knowledge and skills but also cultivates the ethical
foundation necessary for exemplary practice.
❏ A Nurturing and Empathetic Learning Environment: We've fostered a space
where students are encouraged to explore their full potential, develop deep empathy,
and prioritize patient-centered care.
❏ Strategic Partnerships for Real-World Experience: We've forged strong alliances
with hospitals, healthcare institutions, rural health units, communities and facilities,
providing invaluable clinical exposure and hands-on experience in serving those most
in need.
❏ A Culture of Research and Discovery: We've empowered our faculty and students
to contribute to the advancement of medical knowledge through research and
innovation.
❏ Unwavering Commitment to Augustinian Values:We've seamlessly integrated the
principles of truth, charity, and service into every facet of our medical education,
ensuring our graduates are not only skilled physicians but also compassionate human
beings.
The success of our alumni speaks volumes. Their achievements are a direct result of the
dedication of our exceptional faculty, the unwavering support of our administration, and the hard
work and resilience of our students. We are profoundly proud of their contributions and confident
in their ability to continue making a positive impact.
Looking ahead, our commitment remains steadfast: to produce compassionate and competent
physicians who will serve with excellence, integrity, and humility. We will continue to elevate
medical education, drive impactful research, and expand our service to the community, ensuring
LCUP remains a beacon of hope and healing in Bulacan and beyond.
To our students, alumni, faculty, staff, and valued partners, thank you for being an integral part
of this extraordinary journey. Together, we are building a healthier, more compassionate
future for all.
